Chapter 322 The Goodbye (part 2)
"I will say that to you every day… I- I.." Noah stammered as his lips quivered, in his last desperate attempt, he opened a small dimensional pocket and looked around inside of it to see if there was anything he could do to save her. Then his eyes suddenly landed on something and he pulled it out. "Something… Please, god, something… This- this might work."
Under their watchful eyes, they watched as the mage brought out a small piece of a red stone.
"The Philosopher\'s Stone?" the old man\'s eyes sparkled with hope, recalling the information about the stone.
*Whoosh!*
Without explaining anything, the mage used the stone on Evelyn, hoping it would help her. Red tendrils came out of the stone and shot towards the dying woman.
Life energy from the stone moved through her and started to heal her at a rapid speed, but before they could get too happy, reality hit them in the face. The stone was only able to buy her some more time before it disappeared into thin air by disintegrating into a thin powder.

"This is not enough." The mage muttered before looking at the people all around him who were unable to move their bodies, with killing intent. Nhalos trembled in his frozen state when he saw the gaze landing on him.
\'Lord, save me!\' He screamed in his heart, but no one came to save him.
Before the mage could move, a hand grasped his arm. He looked at the woman who was looking at him with a warm smile on her wrinkled face. Evelyn was slowly turning into a dying old woman.
"Do not be someone you are not. They are not worth a couple of minutes to me." With all of her strength, she moved her body and turned around facing towards the sunset, and leaned against his chest, laying in his embrace.
"Let me have the best moment of my life." Placing her hands on his cheeks once again, she added, "There is something I lied to you about, dear."
Despite feeling the sharp pain in his chest, he smiled warmly and slowly brushed her hair with his hands.
"The woman, my only friend... Sera, her name was Sera. I lied that she left without telling me with that human." Evelyn\'s chest heaved up and down as she seemed afraid to look into the mage\'s eyes.
"She did not want to leave this place, but she found out that she was pregnant with a child of the hero. She decided without anyone forcing her after she found that out. I lied when I said she was surrounded by her enemies and her husband died. She was ambushed by her own husband\'s allies after a couple of months they left this place; they wanted to kill both of them along with their unborn child."
The mage did not know why, but he felt his heart churning in pain hearing her words, but he did not interrupt and let her continue.
"The hero and Sera fought with their lives, and only she survived with heavy injuries. Sera knew that she did not have long to live due to the amount of injuries she had sustained, but even then, she decided to give birth.
A couple of days later, she gave birth to a very healthy boy who was, for some reason, fully human.
Sadly, giving birth made her injuries worse, and no amount of magic was capable of healing her at that point. Despite all of that, she used every ounce of will in her body and left for the nearest city, and left the boy in an orphanage called the House of Little Angels."
The mage felt like someone had shoved his body into the coldest freezing magic as he heard her words. His lips quivered as he looked at the woman in his arms with a blank expression.
"Leaving the boy in a safe place, she moved back outside the city and took her last breaths in the wild among the breath of nature and called out to me."
"…Noah," taking a moment of silence, Evelyn added. "Noah, that\'s the name she and I came up with for you that day together; she told me to give it to you the day we met and keep an eye on you till then. Make sure you stayed safe…."
After she ended her little story, Evelyn looked back up into his eyes, "That was her… your mother, Sera Omara."
Tears streamed down her face as she pleaded, "Forgive me for keeping this away from you till now. I do not want you to hate— "
Before she could say anything further, Noah leaned down and kissed her on the lips. As he moved back, his moist eyes looked at her with love and a hint of agony, but there was not a shred of hate for her. "I love you and always will till I take my last breath."
"I will give you a last parting gift." Hearing his words, a relieved smile appeared on her face, her hands started to glow with green energy. She pulled Noah\'s head for another kiss as the green energy from her hands entered his mind.
"I will allow you to have another wife as long as she loves you and you love her." She tried to chuckle, but she saw that her body started to look illusionary, and her hands passed through Noah\'s head.
"I am really glad I came to know— "
*Shhh!*
Before she could complete her words, her body collapsed into several pieces of fragments, while the divine tree in the background withered completely into a dead tree that was half of its original size.
~Silence!~
Chilling silence enveloped the space as the time magic he used wore off…
Noah tried to embrace her but the light fragments of her body but they passed through his body. The old man watched him from the side with a sympathetic look in his eyes. He wanted to support the man but he knew it would be of no use.
