God Ash: Remnants of the fallen.

Chapter 649: Land Dragon.

All thanks to the giant monstrosity. This large Aether Beasts with reptilian features that made it closely resemble a dragon.

However, it had no wings. Instead, its tail was thick, girths, and extremely long.

Its very presence seemed to bring about an uncomfortable amount of heat. The sand beneath its feet had turned into glass because of how hot it was.

Floki suppressed a growl as he endured the grueling heat.

He slowly looked up,

\'This is what they want me to tank? One hit, and I\'m dead!\'

He wasn\'t one to overestimated his abilities.

Luckily, he wasn\'t the only one facing this incredible creature. So at the very least, he wouldn\'t die alone.

Floki felt wipe wiping the sweat off his palms, but they were unfortunately covered by gauntlets. Even worse, a momentary lapse in attention in his situation would be incredibly lethal.

Those on the path of this monster what were too weak were crushed to bits, while the stronger ones tried their best to stall its momentum. The {Earth Behemoth Dragon}; a creature that grew in the depths of a planet. A true being of earth and fire.

A walking disaster...

A breathing calamity...

At the same time, they were being assaulted from all sides by the army of Valestorm.

Although he was deeply troubled by the heat, there was one person that was completely unbothered by it.

Ignis stared at the {Earth Behemoth Dragon} with narrowed eyes,

"It\'s big, that\'s for sure..."

Not just that, but it was a given that its defenses would be incredible too. As a creature of earth and flames herself, she could tell.

On her home planet, creatures like this were incredibly difficult to kill, the difficulty rising the closer they were to their home environment.

There was no tactic in killing a monster like this.

The only option they had...

Was to smother it with overwhelming force.

And so she, alongside a plethora of others charged forward.

Some she recognized, others she wasn\'t too familiar with. However, what she knew, was that they were on the same side, and they would bring this thing down.

\'Somehow...\'

The closer they got to the beast, the more the temperature increased, and the more the terrain began to shift.

Not only was the {Earth Behemoth Dragon} a beast of fire, it also had incredible mastery over the earth. There was no form of rocky surface it could not manipulate.

Most of the sand had cleared away to reveal the rocks hidden beneath.

As she increased her speed, Ignis summoned her gauntlets. The creature finally seemed to sense them.

It let out an enraged scream that ruptured a few eardrums. Gritting her teeth, she pushed forward without slowly down.

Gaining as much momentum as she possibly could, she let herself be free of gravity\'s restrictions.

Then, like some spirit of flames she descended. As she fell, the might of her flames increased.

Letting out a deafening roar, she punched down.

And thus, the battle had truly begun...

A deep blue aura enveloped Rollo as he shrugged off the heat. His body turned into a blur as he arrived beside the titanic beast and smashed the edge of his blade down.

A loud bang resonated out, but he only managed to cut through the beasts, outer leathery hide. There was no blood on his blade at all.

His eyes twitched. Heaving his sword back, he clenched the hilt even harder, so much, the veins on his hands bulged out so much, it looked pile they could pop at any moment.

With a heavy grunt, his sword turned into a blur as he began to attack with reckless abandon.

Scalding hot blood splattered all over his face, but he didn\'t even flinch.

Leah transformed into her half- beast state. She moved with the ferocity of lightning, her body turning into a blitz. Due to the size of the creature, and how thick its outer shell was, there was nothing she could do in this stage of the battle. Instead, all she could do, was wait patiently.

Kai on the other hand, seemed to be incapable of stemming her excitement.

With a roar, she charged forward, bone spear in hand.

The ground beneath her feet turned into countless fragments as she threw the spear like a javelin.

A shockwave spread out as the spear immediately broke the speed barrier.

The spear was shattered to pieces on impact, but it managed to deal a sizeable wound to the {Earth Behemoth Dragon}.

Without wasting a second, she was already throwing another bone spear out.

Manny had long since joined the fight as well. He ran around the creature as well, trying to find a weak spot, as his weapons and his strength was not enough to cut through the creature\'s defenses.

Lin Lin fired off spell after spell. Because of the unique nature of her magic, her spells were able to deal the most damage, destroying entire portions of the creatures tough hide with each spell.

Roselle was like a swift sparrow, her sword already wetted with the creature\'s blood.

Besides Lin Lin, she had done as much damage as Kai already, hacking at its stocky fore and hind limbs.

Of course, the {Earth Behemoth Dragon} didn\'t just stand there and take the beating.

Its retaliation to the pesky flies was swift and destructive.

It slammed its tail to the ground.

The earth seemed to boil violently.

They all sensed the danger and retreated towards Floki as fast as possible.

Floki angled his shield down and activated {Frost Aegis}.

A giant shield of ice manifested. A split second later, thousands of giant earthen spike shot out of the ground in the immediate area around the {Earth Behemoth Dragon}.

They struck the giant ice shield, crushing and breaking it to bits.

However, the spell had done its work.

For the most part, they were all right. No one had died this time.

However, the onslaught was only just started.

The creature roared loudly. Although it was fast, because of its huge body, its speed was nothing they couldn\'t keep up with.

At least that is what they believed.

Before they could reengage with the beast, it seemed to beat them to it.

Its huge head shot down, aiming to swallow all of them in one bite.

\'Crap!\'

Floki took a spet forward and slammed his shield against the snout of the Aether Beasts.

His body shot back, but he managed to keep his shield up.

The {Earth Behemoth Dragon} snarled again, ready to go in for another bite, but the others were quick on the uptake.

Ignis roared and slammed her fists down on its head.

Rollo \'s blade came crashing down, and Kai stabbed the new spear Cain had made for her into one of the creature\'s eyes.

It let out an enraged roar and tried to retreat.

However, Lin Lin had already finished a chant.

Her cold, dark eyes seemed to sparkle as she uttered coldly,

"Astral Chains."

Ethereal chains extended out of the nothingness and bound the creature tightly for just a moment.

However, that was more than enough.

"Fire!" Ignis yelled as loud as she could.

They weren\'t the only ones after all.

The hundreds of Beastmen, Lightslayers, and every other human behind them pulled their triggers or released their bowstrings.

Bullets, arrows, and bolts of magic smashed down against the body of the {Earth Behemoth Dragon}.

One was definitely not enough, and a hundred would barely do anything.

However, if thousands of these bullets and arrows and magic spells fell at once, the damage wouldn\'t be insignificant at all.

Manny grinned like a sharply that had smelt fresh blood.

His mana circulated violently within him as he went from zero to a hundred in less than a fraction of a second.

His swords spun as he cut through the exposed flesh of the {Earth Behemoth Dragon}.

Its draconic shell was tough, but its flesh was like butter before his hot blades.

He laughed like a crazed person as hot blood splattered all over him.

The others followed suit, dealing asuch dage as they could before Lin Lin\'s spell lost its effect.

A second later, the chains snapped and the {Earth Behemoth Dragon} roared in pain and rage.

In such a short time, it had suffered so greatly. Although it did have some regeneration, it was not anywhere as powerful as that of a Hydra. Even worse, it would only fully kick in when it was close to a heat source.

For an Aether Beast, the {Earth Behemoth Dragon} could be considered intelligent enough. It didn\'t possess intelligence that could rival a human, but it could recognize when it was at a disadvantage.

To eliminate this disadvantage, it needed to make the terrain be unfavorable for its attackers.

It raised its head and cried into the starless skies.

Even now, the Beastmen and Lightslayers at the rear had not stopped firing bullets and arrows. Although they weren\'t lethal, they were very annoying, so it decided to take them out first.

Its mouth opened to reveal its sharp teeth.

A deep red glow came from the depths of its throat.

Ignis sensed the danger coming. Fear blossomed in her heart as she yelled as loud as possible,

"Scatter!"

Almost immediately, a torrent of magma came pouring down from the skies...
