Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime

Chapter 120 - 120: Ah Ah Ah

No way, is that happening?

Purple Summers is supposed to go to the law firm today for a meeting, why is she carrying a bird with her?

“Perhaps it’s hungry again.” guessed Purple Summers, as she scooped out some steamed millet with egg yolk from the bowl, molding it into a soft, moist ball, and feeding it to the little crow.

After feeding and watering the bird, Purple Summers stepped out once again.

Alas, the previous situation repeated itself. The moment her foot stepped outside, the little crow began to squawk loudly!

“Caw! Caw! Caw!!!”

The calls were not only loud, but also sharp and hoarse, they were incredibly hysterical!

Purple Summers stood at the doorway, hesitating whether to stay or return.

The booming call echoed and the servants and security guards outside heard it, turning their heads towards the direction of the villa.

The crow’s calling was just too spooky!

What now? Should she go back and pacify it?

While Purple Summers was still troubled, Atra Blanc couldn’t bear it any longer. She came out carrying a lunch box, her face pale.

“This can’t be happening. If it keeps calling like this, it’ll die.”

Atra Blanc felt even if the crow didn’t die, this loud constant squawking was sure to give her a heart attack.

Once the lunch box was handed to Purple Summers, the little crow stopped calling.

…The world was suddenly quiet again.

Atra Blanc let out a long sigh, softly suggesting, “You should bring it with you. Otherwise, there won’t be peace in this house.”

Purple Summers was vexed.

If she was going shopping, it would be fine to bring it along. But today was important. The chance to win the Jameson Family over was critical for her!

“Alright…” Purple Summers sighed.

She couldn’t bear to see it suffer.

Atra Blanc found a small cloth crossbody bag, lined it with bits of cloth, and put the little crow inside.

The egg yolk and millet, still warm, were poured into a portable thermos.

All this turmoil delayed Purple Summers. She looked at the wall clock; it was late. She quickly grabbed her bag and rushed out the door.

By the time she reached Prominence Law Firm, it was already half past ten. As she approached the reception, she saw Aria Jackson who had seemingly been waiting for her.

“Don’t worry, they were stuck in traffic and have only just arrived.” Aria Jackson led Purple Summers inside, and through the glass door of the meeting room, they could see Henry Jameson’s silhouette.

“Marcel and a senior lawyer from our firm are speaking with him. We will find out the specifics soon.” Aria Jackson pour a cup of water for Purple Summers, handed it to her, and asked, “Why the sudden interest in the Jameson family’s case?”

Purple Summers took the cup, took a sip and said, “Henry Jameson’s mother is a member of the Grey Council. I want to secure a slot for the judicial examination, I need her support.”

She paused for a moment, then added with a smile, “Moreover, I can’t bear to see a promising young man being wrongly accused.”

Aria Jackson laughed, “I think you’re just not willing to miss out on this great opportunity.”

It’s easy to offer help when everything is going well, but backing someone in their difficult times isn’t. The Jameson Family was in a desperate situation, and all they needed was for Purple Summers to lend a hand.

The two were in the midst of their conversation when Marcel Jefferson stepped out of the meeting room.

The moment he saw Aria Jackson, he started to complain, “Cousin, has your friend arrived yet? I can’t hold on anymore! I really can’t take on this case. The evidence on one side is comprehensive, the other side refuses to negotiate, yet you insist that I guarantee to win the case, how is that possible? Our law firm may be small, but we still have some dignity……………. ”

Aria Jackson pointed to Purple Summers sitting next to her, saying, “Here, this is my friend; discuss the case with her.”

Marcel Jefferson had a frozen expression; he took a while to regain his composure.

He looked Purple Summers up and down, and then reversed. With a puzzled look, he stammered, “This…pretty girl…”

Thud!

A blow from Aria Jackson landed on his forehead. “How dare you call her a ‘pretty girl’! Show some respect, call her sister!”

Marcel Jefferson whined, “Cousin, she is so young…”

“Doesn’t seniority count? Stop with your nonsense.”

Aria Jackson was about to hit him again, but Marcel Jefferson quickly covered his head and called out, “Sister.”

The office employees chuckled quietly. They were rather familiar with Aria Jackson’s bullying tactics.

Purple Summers was going to brush off the awkward moment. She smiled at Marcel and said, “Let’s discuss the details of the case first..”
